1- Case Study – Samsung

Project: CCTV Surveillance & Access Control System Annual Maintenance Proposal

The Problem:

It was a classic case of vendor migration for Samsung for the lack of service standard maintained by the previous vendor. Samsung was looking for a change and wanted a vendor who has knowledge of system integration and can provide uninterrupted service. The client was looking for AMC of their existing CCTV & Access Control System

The Bottleneck:

The entire solution was given by another vendor and Josh Machines was expected to understand the old solution and its pitfalls and map it up to the new service expectation. Since the hardware was installed, newly no upgrade was possible and Josh Machines was expected to work under this constraint while thinking and deploying the solution.

The unsaid rule was availability of the service engineer round the clock for the entire system to function seamlessly.

The system for AMC was designed taking into account the following:

 Free Remedial Maintenance
 Standby Equipment in case the query is not resolved within a period of 24 hours from the time complaint is lodged
 Training to employees of CLIENT on monthly basis
 Reporting to the CLIENT within 3 days after completion of Preventive as well as Remedial Maintenance
 Designated Email ID or contact number for logging the complaint
 Supply of Spare Parts and Equipment in case of replacement
 Response time for logged complaints should be
• 03 hours on weekdays from the time of logging complaint
• 05 hours on Saturday from the time of logging complaint
 Resolution Time of 48 hours from the time of logging complaint

The Solution:

Josh Machines proposed two set of Solutions to Samsung.

Solution A

Josh Machines proposed deployment of a full time resource at CLIENT’s premise for 6 days a week on 8 hour-shift basis.

The shift timing can be decided as per CLIENT’s convenience and requirement.

In addition, an online portal for ticket management system and support contact number with emails will be provided to cater to
• Complaints registered, their resolution, time taken to resolve
• Escalation or Replacement request (if required)
• Archival of previous complaints and their resolution
• Deputation of Escalation team for visit or resolution (if necessary)
• Exhaustive report thread for every communication of all complaints logged
• On-site Equipment replacement and Deployment tracking
• Invoice Management System

Solution B

Only an online portal for ticket management system and support contact number with emails will be provided to cater to
• Complaints registered, their resolution, time taken to resolve
• Request for Visit and resolution
• Archival of previous complaints and their resolution
• Exhaustive report thread for every communication of all complaints logged
• On-site Equipment replacement and Deployment tracking
• Invoice Management System

The Client picked option A and Josh Machines successfully overtook the control of all the hardware and stitched the new solution, deployed it and is still maintaining it.

2-Case Study – Samsung

Project: Vehicle Tracking System Upgradation & AMC Proposal

The Problem:

Samsung was looking for a solution to make their existing vehicle tracking system solution to be available on their internal network system

The Bottleneck:

 Hardware setup and upgradation of their existing RFID hardware
 Installation of new controller and LED light system for Exit gate
 Update on the existing embedded system for controller
 Update on existing software system of VTS
 AMC for existing VTS system

The Solution

Josh Machines had to design a solution that has to integrate multiple hardware on a single platform. It was also responsible for finding a solution that’s not only robust but can also be there for next few years meeting the requirement of new technology or further integration. Identification of the best hardware and technology to meet this requirement was also the part of the solution. Samsung was looking for a single vendor who can look into various technology, hardware and other requirement – a technology partner whom they can trust. Josh Machines not only identified and tested various solution and vendors, but also helped Samsung choose a technology and hardware that can serve them for years without major upgrade.

Josh Machines came up with the solution that met this need of Samsung. The application was developed in the following technology.
• Technology Platform: PHP, Raspberry Pi and .Net Platform
• Database Support: MySQL
• Software Requirement: XAMPP

The Approach

• Update the software configuration, Controller and API of embedded system
• Application testing for the network update
• Cabling and connectivity upgrade
• Re-configuration of the existing RFID Hardware
• Installation of update software solution to the existing Vehicle Tracking System
• On-site Solution Testing and Deployment

The entire project was developed and deployed in 6 weeks.
